AFTERCARE PLAN

HOW TO MAINTAIN THE BEST RESULT

Following your treatment, you should exercise the following:

DAY 1-4 AFTER TREATMENT

  • Avoid touching or wetting the treated area!
  • Do not shave the treated area!
  • Avoid carrying out any activities that cause excessive sweating
  • Do not use moisturiser or shampoo, Only use what your specialist has
    provided you with
  • Minimise sun exposure to your scalp as much as possible. The sun’s UV
rays can break down the pigments and cause premature fading or
complete fall outs which will result in more work/time/money.!
  • You may notice a bit of swelling the first few days after the treatment.
This is completely normal and should not be of concern.
  • Do not scrub, scratch, or comb your scalp. If it becomes too itchy, use
your fingertips instead of your nails or alternatively slap your skin for
    relief.!
  • Cleanse the area with a non fragranced baby wipe to remove excess oil
    and dead skin
  • Clients should use a high potency vitamin E cream for 3-5 days.!!
  • Avoid hot steamy showers, try to have showers with lukewarm water to
avoid pigment falling out due to opened and exposed pores.

DAY 5 AFTER TREATMENT

  • Do not undertake any swimming, steam room or sauna for 28 Days!
  • Wash your head with lukewarm water and baby shampoo / sensitive skin
    shampoo
  • Apply moisturiser as needed to prevent dryness and flaky skin. We
recommend using a non perfumed moisturiser with high potency of
vitamin E. If you need to shave your head, use a trimmer or electric
shaver only. No razor shaving for 10 days

*Failure to follow these instructions may result in pigment colour loss

LONG TERM AFTERCARE

  • Apply sunscreen to your scalp with an SPF of 30-50 to preserve the
colour of the pigments and prevent them from fading.
  • Refrain from using hair care products that contain alcohol in them.
  • Exfoliate your scalp at least once a week to remove dead skin cells and
maintain the appearance of the pigments.

Consult your SMP technician for touch-ups regarding your treatment. Just like tattoos, scalp micropigmentation fades slowly over time. Do not worry though, as this fading phenomenon takes 5 years or more before needing a touch-up.
